Step 1 – Choose the Right Tyres
80% of car setup is choosing the right tyres for the conditions. Many tyres can be used across a wide range of conditions while others only work within a narrow band. Visit our Tyres page for further advice.
Step 2 – Radio / ESC Settings
Choosing appropriate settings for throttle aggressiveness, brakes end point, drag brake, reverse, and ABS can make a big difference to whether your car brakes and accelerates smoothly or pulls to one side / spins out when braking / accelerating.
Step 3 – Car Setup
Broadly speaking setup is adjusted to provide sufficient rear end grip so that your car doesn't lose the back end when cornering or accelerating out of a corner. When you give your car more rear end grip you often lose steering and vice versa. It is very achievable to have a car which has sufficient rear end grip and still has enough steering to turn tight corners. We show you how.
